As the days cool down and the wintery weather sets in, it’s time to be thinking about Spring and what needs to be done in the garden in order to ensure your garden looks fabulous at the on set of Spring.
Spring flowering bulbs are perfect to plant from May through to June, you can plant Daffodils, Snowdrops, Crocus, Bluebells, Tulips, Hyacinths and many more…………..a good tip is to pop your Tulip bulbs into the fridge a couple of weeks prior to planting. At the Sanctuary Point Garden Centre, our Tulips have already been pre-refridgerated for your convenience
In June in the Sanctuary Point Garden Centre, we eagerly await the delivery of our new season roses and our bare root fruit and ornamental trees.
Bare root means that they don’t come potted up in bags or plastic pots. Once they arrive, we tend to the trees by digging them into a pre-prepared sand/soil bed and give them a good watering, these trees will stay in this bed for about a month. This process is called “healing in”. Most of our trees are purchased by our customers whilst they are healing in, however, any trees that are left after this period are potted or bagged up and put out into the garden centre for sale as potted or bagged trees.
