With only a couple of weeks until Christmas, I’m shocked at how fast this year has gone. With the COVID-19 lock down and the surge of people heading into their gardens, here at the Sanctuary Point Garden Centre we’ve been in a crazy whirlwind for the past 10 months for which we’re completely exhausted, but incredibly grateful. To have been allowed to remain open and trade during lockdown was such a gift for us and we’ve been truly humbled by the immense support shown by our fabulous community and beyond.
Our regular TV advertising, has seen a huge influx of visitors from as far South as Batemans Bay, as far North as Helensburgh and everywhere in between. The feedback has been nothing but positive not only about the Sanctuary Point Garden Centre, but the whole of the Bay and Basin area and for this we couldn’t be happier.
The support we’ve been shown has given us the opportunity to take on more staff, increasing our overall customer service offering. We’ve been able develop and grow our already fabulous stock offering with an even bigger selection of all types of plants, indoor and outdoor pots, garden art, garden furniture and water features.
We’re really proud of our achievements during 2020, we’re incredibly proud of our staff who adapted pretty quickly to the changing requirements of COVID and the growth in visitor numbers and we’re really very grateful to all of you, our customers who continue to support us and allow us to keep getting better.
Lemons, Lemonade, Limes, Mandarins, Oranges, Grapefruit – with stock running out all over Australia we’ve been able to source a selection of premium grafted citrus trees that are a decent size. They’re in stock now, but running out fast.
Have been and are still in high demand, we have great looking Olive trees in stock now with more arriving in the week before Christmas.
Bowen Mangoes will finally arrive on Tuesday 15th December (PM). We only have 20 allocated to us, so it’s definitely first in best dressed.
Hibiscus are in stock and are looking just beautiful, lots of different varieties available in both 140mm and 200mm sized pots.
Roses have been in very high demand (along with everything else) and we’ve pretty much sold out of most varieties, with the exception of some climbing and standard roses. Pre-orders for Bare Root Roses have already been placed for delivery in June 2021 so if you have a particular rose you’ve been looking for and have missed out on this year, feel free to give us a call and we’ll get it ordered for delivery in June 2021.
Bare Rooted fruit trees will be ordered by the end of December for delivery in July 2021. We’ll be ordering the normal suspects such as Apricots, Apples, Cherries Nectarines, Plums, Peaches, Pomegranates and Pears in both tall and dwarf varieties. If you wish to pre-order any of these for delivery in July 2021, feel free to give as a call.
Pitcher plants will be back in stock before Christmas. Watch our Facebook page for regular updates on new stock arrivals.
Most of our suppliers will be closing over Christmas and New Year to take a well-earned break. However, we can confirm that there will be deliveries of fresh veg seedlings, herbs and flower seedlings into the Sanctuary Point Garden Centre between Christmas and New Year.
Plant and garden product suppliers have been inundated since the COVID lockdowns and this has seen a mass shortage of plants and product that would, in normal circumstances have been readily available. In early 2021 we still expect there to be some items that are still hard to find, however overall supply should be pretty much back to normal. We’re hopeful that we’ll be able to commence our workshops and presentations in 2021, so look out for our 2021 schedule on Facebook.
To all of our customers, thank you, we couldn’t do any of it without you, so from all of us to all of you, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year in 2021.
