Sow carrot seeds in February to get them established before the cold weather, especially in cooler climates.
Baby Carrots are a good choice for shallow soils or pots and they produce sweet cruncy carrots for the whole family.
Calendulas are some of the most useful and attractive flowers for the cooler months. Their daisylike blooms bring cheery orange and yellow notes to the garden, and the petals can be tossed into winter stews to add extra colour and a small amount of flavour.
You can still plant Tomatoes in February, also the last of the seasons Cucumber, Chilli and Zucchini can be planted now. New seasons vegies such as Broccoli, Cabbage and Cauliflower are making their way into the Nursery during late January and February. Spring Onions, Leeks and of course Lettuce are all good vegies that can be planted in February.
Between January and February you can plant Autumn flowering bulbs. Our Garden Centre has beautiful Autumn Flowering Crocus in shades of yellow and white.
Begonias are looking amazing at this time of year as are the stunning New Guinea Impatients. New Guinea Impatients really inject colour into our Garden Centre and they will in your garden as well. Some of the new varieties of the New Guinea Impatients are sun tolerant and are called the Super Sonic or Sonic varieties.
